Sometimes a browser is in the way. A television photo viewer, a digital signage player, a video editing timeline or a print layout all want a file rather than a web page. This tool draws the exact colour you have set — including your brightness and warmth adjustments — and saves it as a PNG at whatever resolution you choose, up to 8K.
The image is generated by your own browser on a canvas and written straight to your device. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is processed on a server, which is also why it works with no internet connection.
PNG is used rather than JPEG deliberately. JPEG compression introduces faint blocking artefacts even across a completely flat colour field, which is precisely what you do not want in a file you intend to use as a reference, a test pattern or a clean backdrop.

What people use it for
Finding dead pixels
A dead pixel stays black on white; a stuck pixel glows red, green or blue on black. Cycling solid colours is still the fastest way to find both.
Video call lighting

Is the white screen image really free?
Yes. Every tool on this site is free, with no account, no trial and no paid tier. You do not need to give us an email address.
Does it work on a phone or tablet?
Yes. The whole site is built mobile-first and works in Safari on iPhone and iPad, Chrome on Android, and every modern desktop browser. On iOS, fullscreen uses a full-viewport mode because Safari restricts the fullscreen API.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After your first visit the page is cached on your device, so you can open it again with no internet connection at all.
Will this damage my screen?
No. Displaying a solid colour is exactly what your screen does all day. The one caution is OLED: leaving a static bright image on an OLED panel for hours can cause temporary image retention, which is why we include an optional burn-in protection mode.
Do you collect my data?
We do not ask for a name, an email or an account, and no image ever leaves your device — every tool renders locally in your browser.
What resolution should I download?
Fit to screen for a wallpaper on the device you are using. 1080p for video backgrounds and most televisions, 4K for 4K displays and signage, and 8K if you want headroom for cropping or large-format print.
Why PNG instead of JPEG?
JPEG throws away information in a way that shows up as faint blocking even in a perfectly flat colour, and that defeats the purpose of a reference image. PNG is lossless, so the file contains exactly the colour you asked for.
Where does the file go on a phone?
On Android it lands in your Downloads folder. On iOS it goes to the Files app under Downloads rather than into the photo library; from there you can move it into Photos if you need it in your camera roll.
